Interviewing Faith Maxwell, McClure Middle School student

Yana D.

What do you look forward to, every day at McClure? Faith: “Every day I look forward to going to my locker and getting ready for the day.”

What’s your favorite subject at McClure? Faith: “My favorite subject is art because I get to spread my creativity every first 10 minutes of class.”

How is middle school different from elementary school? Faith: “Middle school is different because you have to go through your classes very quickly. But you feel freer whenever you are moving from class to class.”

Who is your favorite teacher at McClure, and why? Faith: “Ms. Tocci, our gym teacher because she is super nice and always sets up the coolest games. I also like my ELA teacher, Mr. Bricket because he seems strict, but always has some sort of humor in him.

What’s something cool about one of your academic classes? Faith: “Something cool about my science class is my teacher Ms. Goodle, has a class pet bearded dragon named Pogo.”

Was it scary entering middle school, is it the same or different now? Faith: “It was scary moving from elementary school to middle school, then you get used to it after the first day.”

Is it easy to navigate throughout the school? Faith: “At first you get a slip of paper that shows you when and where your classes are, and you completely forget you don’t have recess. So yes, it’s easy to get around the school.”

Do you enjoy having a locker, and what’s it like? Faith: “Having a locker is super fun, though it depends on whether it likes you or not, because sometimes they can be tricky.”

Are you glad you’re at McClure for middle school? Faith: “I am 100% happy I’m at McClure because it’s the perfect place to express your personality, genders, and hobbies.”

Would you recommend going to McClure for middle school? Faith: “ Yes, I would recommend McClure to future 6th graders, because they have something cool that are similar to positive paws, called pride cards. And I can see all of those who are coming next year.”

Thank you for letting me interview you! Faith: “You're welcome!”
