How to Make a Green Tea Matcha Latte

Yana D.

Step 1: First you will need a tea kettle to heat the water, you can put about 3 cups in the kettle and just wait for it to get hot. While you wait you can set up everything you need. You can grab a cup first and put some ice cubes in and pour some milk in a little over halfway.

Step 2: Then you will need a matcha bowl, or just a small, even, round bowl. After you grab your bowl, you can put about half a tbsp of matcha into the bowl.

How to tell if your Matcha is Good Quality or not

Well first of all good quality matcha or ceremonial grade matcha is usually pretty bright green, the greener and more vibrant it is the better the quality it is. The browner or muddier the matcha looks, that usually means it’s worse quality, and it won’t taste that great either.

Step 3: Now in that bowl with your matcha you can add some honey (add how much your heart desires) and a little bit of vanilla bean paste. Then you will be needing a bamboo matcha whisk. Pour some of that hot water from the tea kettle into a mug and let the bamboo whisk soak for about 2 minutes. (There shouldn’t be that much in your little bowl)

Step 4: Now you add some hot water to your bowl so its just about covering everything, but not too much so it goes over halfway. After that, you grab your whisk and whisk everything together in your bowl in a quick back and forth motion, once everything’s combined, your matcha should be a vibrant green with a foamy layer of tiny bubbles covering everything like a blanket.

Step 5: Now you add your matcha mixture to the iced milk, stir with a straw and enjoy your fresh traditional iced matcha!
