Sandwi(t)ch?
Vella D.

Our story starts with Tom. He recently watched the new Wicked movie and also took a lesson on sand sculpting. He loves both. This inspired him to go to the beach to sculpt a witch.
Bob was walking on the same beach, obsessing about Wicked, which he had just watched for the third time. He couldn't stop thinking about it. Just bring up anything from the movie: witch, wizard, munchkin, broom. He would go on forever. Just as he was lost in thought, he saw Tom's sculpture and thought he was dreaming. He rubbed his eyes. Still there. Before you could say Elphaba, Bob was running to Tom’s sculpture.
Tom was working hard. His hands moved carefully as each detail was added. He noticed Bob walking up to him and thought “Here we go,” to himself; He always had trouble communicating.
“Hey, I noticed your sculpture of a sand witch. It's pretty cool.” said Bob. Tom was pretty sensitive about this because he thought Bob was teasing him for his first attempt.
“It's not a sandwich! It's a witch." Tom replied, a sort of anger in his voice. “Yeah, but it's a witch, and it's made of sand. So it's a sand witch!” snipped Bob, also getting a bit annoyed.
This got him really mad. “It's not a sandwich! It’s the witch from the Wicked movie!” yelled Tom.
“Wait… you like the movie?” Bob asked. “ Every person who I met didn't seem to be interested in it.”
“Well, yeah. I like the movie,” said Tom. “I think the best parts are when Elphaba flies.”
“No way! Me too.” replied Bob excitedly.
“Say,” said Tom. “I’m going to a theater to see Wicked tomorrow and I was gonna bring my friend, but he is sick,” he explained. “Now I have an extra ticket. Unless you don't want it…” he finished, smiling.
“NO! er- I mean, I would love to come!” replied Bob.
“Don’t worry, I also have speaking problems. “ chuckled Tom.
The next day, Bob went to the theater, but not empty handed. He had a bag slung over his shoulder. He couldn't see Tom through the large crowd, but he eventually spotted his friend sitting down, waiting for him.
“Hi. What's in the bag?” asked Tom. Bob smiled and put his hand in the bag. He pulled out two snack packs, each had a ham and cheese sandwich.
“Well, at least they're not made of sand!” laughed Tom.
