Summer Fun!
Theo W.

We’re nearing the end of the school year and that means that summer break is arriving soon! That means you have the freedom to do whatever you want! Here I have compiled a list of some fun things to do on those long and hot summer days.
Some fun things to keep busy with during the summer are:
\ Reading (See next paragraph)
\ Picking up a new hobby, like
o Origami/other papercraft
o Woodworking
o Coding
o Rubiks cube
o Writing
o Thread crafts like crochet, knitting, cross stitch, embroidery, tatting, or weaving.
There is also the book bingo, which is run by Seattle Arts and Lectures in partnership with Seattle Public Library and King County Library System. It’s very fun and it helps you to read a lot during the summer. Here is the link to the ones for kids, teens and adults: https://lectures.org/community/book-bingo/
This June there is the Pride Parade! The Seattle Pride Parade is a wonderful place where you can be yourself and support the queer community. The pride parade is for all ages and is on Sunday, June 29th. You march from 11:00 to 3:00. There is also an official Seattle Public Schools group that you can join too. Find the big yellow school bus in the parade staging area before 11:00 am to walk with the SPS group.
Some other fun things to do are see 4th of July fireworks from Gas Works Park, South Lake Union, or Lookouts on East Queen Anne. Go to some museums, like MoPop, MOHAI, Seattle Pacific Science Center, Museum of Illusions, and more. Or, spend a day at the beach making sandcastles and running across the hot sand.
I hope you all have a great summer wherever your travels take you!
