The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street Book Review

Kennedy W.

Are you looking for your next favorite book of the year? Well, I’ve got the perfect book for you, The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street by Karina Yan Glaser.

Here is a quick summary of the book:

The Vanderbeeker family live in a cozy brownstone in Harlem, New York, and while Christmas is just around the corner, their landlord whom they have never met or seen mysteriously does not let the family renew their lease.

So, it is up to the five Vanderbeeker children to have their landlord to renew their lease and all they need is a Christmas miracle to save their home before New Year’s.

I like this book because it’s realistic fiction, a mystery, and engaging.

I like realistic fiction because it is the best genre of all the others. You can make connections to the story that you can’t make when there is a soldier fighting a dragon or the ice queen knocking on your door. You can relate to what the characters are feeling and what they are going through.

I like mystery books because they are interesting to read. I like to try and solve the mystery before the characters. When you have a book in your hands that is mysterious, you just must read it! What I like about The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street is that you would never guess what happens.

I like a story being engaging because you can’t really enjoy a story when it isn’t engaging and you don’t want to keep reading. Right from the start of The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street to the end, you won’t be able to stop reading because it is so engaging.

A tip for reading The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street is to not judge a book by its cover. You may think the cover doesn’t look exciting or fun to read, but when you start reading, you’ll really feel like you are stepping inside the book and are with the characters and don’t want to leave your brownstone in Harlem.

So the next time you need a good book to read, think about what I told you and choose The Vanderbeekers on 141st Street!
