Demon Slayer review

Keira J.

The character in this picture is Shinobu Kocho, and she is one of the many primary characters from the anime/manga Demon Slayer. Shinobu is kind of like a medic or doctor, but she also contributes to killing demons.

You see, in Demon Slayer, the main character, Tanjiro Kamado, sells charcoal for a living to help his family. One day he leaves to go down the mountain to the small town where he sells charcoal, but when he comes back up the mountain to his house, he finds that his family has been killed by a demon. When he realizes that his sister, Nezuko, is still warm he tries to carry her back to the town to find help. Now one important thing to note is that he never knew that demons existed, so he suspected that his family was actually killed by a bear.

When Tanjiro is not even halfway down the mountain, his sister wakes up goes wild, and throws the two of them off a small cliff. Fortunately, Tanjiro is saved by the snow, but unfortunately, Nezuko isn’t herself. She attacks Tanjiro and seems to have gone mad. It doesn’t take long for Tanjiro to realize that she had been turned into a demon.

If you want to know what happens next, well, the only thing I’m saying is that Tanjiro trains very (and when I say very, I mean VERY) hard to join the Demon Slayer Corps so he can try to find a cure that will turn his sister back into a human. If you really want to know what happens, you should really watch the anime on Crunchyroll (an anime streaming service) or read the manga (a Japanese style book that can be mistaken for a graphic novel, which you read from the back to the front cover, and you read the speech bubbles in the specific order of left to right and up to down).

Going back to the character Shinobu Kocho, she isn’t exactly the nicest character but she’s not exactly mean either. She is a hashira, which is the highest rank in the Demon Slayer Corps. She kills demons with poison instead of a sword. She also makes medicine for injured or sick people, so, like I said in the first paragraph, she is kind of like a medic or a doctor. Anyway, I hope I made a new Demon Slayer fan today, or if not, at least a manga or anime fan!!!

ATTENTION!!!!!!

Demon Slayer isn’t necessarily for little kids because it involves lots of violence, traumatized characters, and a LOT of sad backstories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :3
