The Rise of 6-7
Caleb R.

6-7 seems to be everywhere these days, even college basketball games. But where did it come from? Find out in this article.
On November 7, Evansville College and Calumet College were playing a basketball game against each other. The score was 64 to 33, and Evansville was winning. Suddenly, an Evansville player shot a three-pointer, making the score 67!!!!!! The fans immediately went wild! Kids and parents throughout the crowd were doing the 6-7 arms. It was crazy!
It’s not just basketball games that 6-7 have been affecting. It’s also when your teacher asks you to turn your books to page 67. Or when you look at the weather and the forecast says it’s going to be 67 degrees. But where did it come from and how did it spread all over the nation...maybe even world?
Well, the answer is the internet. It all started when someone took a rap song that had 6-7 in it and made a GIF about Lamello Ball, a famous basketball player, being 6-7 because he’s 6 foot 7 inches. And that’s it. No secret meaning. No crazy origin. Just a funny GIF that’s swept the nation.
