25-26 musical theater club

Alanis K.

This year’s musical theatre club is doing Junie B. Jones! If you haven't heard of it, the book series is about a first-grade girl who is silly, but also kind of clumsy, and it ends with a kickball tournament.

Okay, enough spoilers. Knowing what you know about this play, I walked around and interviewed three people...

First, I interviewed Hannah K., or Junie B. Jones:

Q: How does it feel to be cast as a main character?

A: Great! I didn’t even know I wanted to be the main character. I just wanted a named part, so I was surprised.

Q: Is it hard to memorize all those lines?

A: It can be hard, but I have a lot of tricks to help, and I practice for 15 minutes every night.

Next, I interviewed another large part, Neil P., or Herb, with the same questions:

Q: How does it feel to be cast as a large part?

A: Good, it’s fun to be a lead role because you get to be everywhere, and you get the full scoop.

Q: Is it hard to memorize all those lines?

A: VERY!

Finally, I interviewed the last person, and if you go to Coe, you should know her, Ms. Carreiro, with one question:

Q: What are the show dates?

Just kidding, the show dates are May 8-9. The real question is:

Q: How does it feel to be a director each year?

A: It’s a very exciting creative challenge. I get to work with great kids to create something special.

So, if you come, you won’t get bored! There are great actors, well-choreographed songs, and a school full* of fun!

*That’s a school pun, sort of. :3
